Why build the Dunkirk repowering project?

October 16, 2013

I read with interest two recent articles written by executives of National Grid, a United Kingdom-based regulated monopoly that operates in New York, New England and the United Kingdom....

National Grid's position was a perfect example of corporate gain at the expense of everyone else, a small example of what's ruining America.

christopher, can you anything other word besides corporation ? I never hear you complain about the greedy teachers union. I wonder why ?Do you like uneducated poeple ? You must ! We need to hear from the green heads about the wonders of solar and wind ! They are 24/7 now by mandate from the ACA.Electricty runs america and the world, so the libs just have to mess that up. transmission lines a fix alone ? Nope, somewhere, someplace you need a generating facility that works 24/7. Unless of course you like blackouts like the 3rd world has. Natural gas is cheap and abundant because of fracking and, for christopher, corporations ! The US is the number 1 energy producer in the world. You libs have gotta try to mess that up ! yes ! LWV where are you ? nurture it !The world can benefit from abundant fuel. Libs, you have got to stop it !

lets see,in the roaring 20's it was autos that fueled the boom. electricity was taking off across america. Radio was going big time.Imagine telling them all you need is a transmission line ! Even California was made great by electricity, thats why they are going green , to go backwards. Those libs get everything backwards.

Just another foreign based element that will destroy the US. We have sold off our industries to foreigners and here we are controlled by foreigners that are turning us, with the help of Obama, into a third world country.

Christophers right on those big bad corporations...sure he doesn't own any corporate stocks, mutual funds or ETFs that invest in those corporations either in an IRA, pensionn or 401K?

These companies are behemoths fighting it out for market share and profit. (Nothing wrong with that.)

Dunkirk is fortunate NRG is aggressively pushing its plan – if they pull out, it’ll be the worst thing for Dunkirk since that “wonderful” downtown urban renewal project.
