Senator Young will be involved enough to say she touched the issue but "it was too late" to help. She's ignored calls for support and help the past three years... THREE YEARS. Now all of a sudden she's interested? What a joke.

What is senator Young going to do? Make speeches, tell us she is working in our best interests. Who will follow up? No one. And the public sees a savior in Young while Lake Shoe Hospital goes down the tubes. Will she ask for an audit? I doubt it? Will she ask the Attorney General to get involved? Never happen. The hallmark of a true politician.

Again I ask, how many of the complainers have written their elected officials? Where are the petitions and picket lines from the effected employees and where's the support from local businesses who will obviously be effected by the layoffs of 460 people? I don't get it. Oh, and that lease? This morning somebody else told me it might be $5000 a month, not $1000!! Not sure. Either way, Brooks is on the hook. Who approved that lease?

For those of you who may not know, Lakeshore serves way more people than those in northern Chautauqua County. Many psych patients were transfered there from Buffalo, as well as many people coming there from Angola, Derby, Lakeview, and Hamburg. The Cattaraugus Indian Reservation has a devoted volunteer squad bringing in patients, and they no longer have Tri County! What about all the WNYDDSO clients in Gowanda, and Perrysburg, and surrounding areas? While I like Hamot, its ridiculous to think all the people served by Lakeshore could trek to Erie, especially with the winters we have here.

Last evening WIVB reported that Lakeshore recently purchased a new 4.6 million dollar electronic data recording system, and another 1 million dollars in hospital equipment, along with the 1.9 million for the new ER. There was a huge layoff of dedicated staff, many who had worked there for years prior to that, and the same happened at Brooks. Lakeshore never needed all those people given 6 figure salaries, mostly people brought in from Pennsylvania, but it did need the people with much needed experience to give good patient care, and they were tosse out 1 by 1 ever since Jonathan Lawrence came to town I urge everyone to let Senator Young know whats really going on at Lakeshore; I did, and recived a call from one of her staffers the next day!

Do some investigating!! Interview the current CEO overseeing the operations of Lakeshore and Brooks, ACTUALLY INVESTIGATE! Ask about the financial viability of Brooks. Ask about the thousand dollar a month lease for offices signed by the fired CEO of Brooks, who approved it, and admit Brooks is still stuck with the lease! Brooks is in almost as bad a shape financially as Lakeshore was, and for the same reasons, INCOMPETENCE and BAD MANAGEMENT!! The current CEO should be replaced, immediately! The Board of Directors is a joke! The Attorney General needs to be involved at this point. I've at least been sending information to our local elected officials. I might add, where's Mr. Borrello and the County on this issue?
