"In all, there are 66 candidates running for 62 positions."

And people wonder why things don't change...

I think if there were term limits you would get people to run. As it stands many probably don't want to fight those entrenched in the positions. If you are the one among many you can't accomplish much. If the positions turned over and there were different people with different ideas you may even accomplish something. The County Legislature is a perfect example. Same old people doing the same old thing year after year.....NOTHING!!!!

Horrigan is Edwards clone..He has helped drive this County into the bottomless pit..Its time for new blood..They cant be any worse then who is in there now..It cracks me up when I read,he wants to get the welfare to work program moving..Where are these milkers going to work when there are no jobs for the people who want to work cant find a job..What a joke..No Horrigan vote from me!!..

If you are a City of Dunkirk Voter, I would suggest that you cast your votes for the County Candidates and the proposals that are on the ballot. As for the City Candidates, If you feel that they are doing a good job for the City cast your vote. If not don't cast a vote.

JM has a valid point, what we don't get is why, candidates who are running unopposed need to have campaign signs, do they think that the voters won't remember them

If you have had experience with welfare to work you would know it does not work!!! They are no shows, lazy and will tell you I can make more on welfare. The program stinks!!!! It doesn't motivate them to work it motivates them to stay on welfare!!!!

Come to VA for an election mess:

We’re the only “purple” state with a gubernatorial election this year, and our choice is between the ex chair of the Dem Party who’s never held office and the ultra-rightwing state attny general embroiled in a donor scandal along with the governor.

64% of those voting for the Dem are doing so not because they like him, but because they’re voting AGAINST the Repub, who, as a state senator sponsored bills to (a) ban the pill, (b) make gay sex a felony, and (c) force women to have transvaginal sonograms if contemplating an abortion. As attny gen, his office helped the defense team of an oil company being sued by VA landowners over royalties. And THAT’S the best candidate my party could come up with?

Our current gov is Repub, and the state senate and assembly are Repub-controlled. but this year I fear we’re gonna make a left turn...

At the county level this election should be a referendum on the sale of the county home. If you support the sale - vote for Horrigan. If you oppose a sale vote for Johnson. Let's let the voters decide.

Phil....the sale of the CCH should NOT be the deciding factor for voting for Cty Ex, however, I'm sure it will be for many. There are more important issues that should be considered for voting for either one.
