I agree Carla, one issue candidates usually don't have much to offer beyond the "issue". In the case of District 5 even the Observer noted that and endorsed Niebel because of his vast experience.

Lord have mercy! Please vote for the people who have brains and experience. We have fewer representatives now and that means the elected official from Fredonia or Dunkirk etc., could have a profound effect on the people of Ellery. I admire all of any party who step up to the plate to run for office, however; "having a lot of time" or "Having a lot of energy" does not qualify one to represent the people of Chautauqua County. A one issue candidate that may appeal to emotion now may have nothing else to offer for years to come. There are people with intelligence, experience and education running in these races. Please vote for them with out regard to party. Our county cannot stand the strain of partisan airheads who just get along and go along, sometimes forever, at the expense of taxpayers. Use your conscience at the polls and vote for the most capable. It matters to all of us.
