Supposedly this was supposed to be investigated long ago - yeah, our government and tax dollars at work.

Paul Brian Higgins also investigated and came up with the same answer so they parroted exactly what the oil companies told them to say!

The last time I checked, total gasoline taxes in New York State were about 60 cents per gallon. So, when the Senecas charge us 40 cents less than the going rate they are actually padding their profit margin by an additional 20 cents per gallon because they pay no tax. I personally asked Senator Schumer the following: "If you are so concerned about what we pay for gasoline, why don't you propose elimination of the federal tax on gas?" His response "we can't do that - we need that revenue for road maintenance". Give a dollar to a politician and they will figure out a way to spend it.

actually the elephant in the room is as with all consumables and utilities it distribution cost, don't believe it look at your utility bills, 39% is usage and 61% is transport/distribution

Christopher,

Oh I know, but the Rez difference could just be that they are trying to kill competition, since they make many times more on a gallon then any stations off the Rez, but the Thruway station is another story, especially when combined with the Rez price.

Remember that before the gov shut off delivers to the Rez years ago, was that the father of our current gov or Pataki, the price difference between gas and smokes on and off the Rez was much higher.

I also wrote to the illustrious Senator about the closing of Lakeshore Hospital and the use of that FEMA money from Gowanda to pay the bills beforehand. No response.

Darkstar, the "Rez" is GENERALLY about 40 cents cheaper, 60 cents is a LOT! The Thruway is always at least a nickel higher, sometimes a dime. Something is clearly wrong, especially since Erie County last week was a dime less as well! I don't disagree on the alternative energy remark, he could power Manhattan all by himself.

Christopher,

Well if the alternative energy people found a way to harness all the hot air and bull that guys spews we could solve or energy problems overnight.

Well they are always cheaper on the reservation, but if it's cheaper at the Angola service center then there really is an issue as they've always been significantly more expensive.

No problem, Senator Schumer investigated and assured us that nothing was wrong.
