December 3, 2013

Among the many upsetting aspects of federal spending negotiations going on in Washington is a comparison of budget cuts in dispute to those agreed upon with little controversy. U.S. Sen....

One thing more that he didn't promise but did do was trash the constitutional process of changing law's!!!!! Then again maybe that was part of the"fundamental change" statement?

I will cut the deficit in half in 3 1/2 years or this will be a one term proposition. The recession is over. We will get to the bottom of this.

Yeah, those lying Republicans...look at your own "savior" while winding up to throw rocks.

the libs have to answer what a prof just said about obama. obama is what the framers of the constitution designed to avoid. An imperial presidency. the libs want congress, read right wing to cave in and just say OK. Obama , and this is not a right wing person, John Turley , obama has become a threat to the constitution itself.

hey mikedavis, the libs have to mock the white man. every single notable invention we take for granted was done by white males. The white males have BURIED the gals and all other minorities. thats why the libs have appreciation days and other times in honor of the < successful people.for the liberal party is the party of deluded, unscientific people. i have listed many times the white male contribution to science. It is met with the usual, sexism, hatred, greed, etc.thats how liberals operate when they cant debate, they just scream, like children or other mental defectives.

mike and stang, you got it right.judeye does not know anything. slavery existed in africa by africans over africans, long before america was born or settled. The african leaders got rid of undesirables. Judeye ignores my numerous factual posts of obstructionism by her own beloved party. I swear she must be in an institution somewhere. She forgets the civil war. thats gotta be the biggest obstruct, a split from the union in all of american history. in short, judeye does not know much of anything, except myths and falsehoods. but thats the trade mark of the liberal party. She ignored my posts on detroits decline. Another great liberal thing. She ignores the various riots by liberals.then judeye says c o mpromise ! her own party never did it, but who cares in her mind ?

Stang, you know the liberal minds of acadamia have revised any and all history showing America as anything but an overbearing bully on the world stage. Even here at home the last two generations are taught how evil the white man is in numerous classes. Of course the evil has been over for over 140 years but never let a good opportunity to ruin peoples pride in their own ethnicity while lauding the virtues of the ethnic being able to "rap" about b.ithes and "hos". Or scream racism when they manage to fail while putting no effort in any educational or vocational endeavor. Much easier to scream racism...prejudice...bigot. Why try and instill enough self respect to pull up their pants, pay attention in school, have respect for others and EARN their way.

Judeye, you said: There are several instances where after blocking the votes for months on end..a vote finally takes place..with an unanimous voting YES. They had NO problem with the appointee. They do have a problem with who is President.

Don't know if you realize but this has been taking place since we became a nation. Members of congress always tried to block what the president wanted if he was the other political party. Our nations history has numerous fights among our leaders over political reasons. My gosh, Vice President Alexander Hamilton was shot in a duel over politics. You act like this is some new thing because of this particular president. Put the race cards away and look back into history.

posters, you have to realize that judeye does not really know anything. She just parrots the liberal line. The gap between rich and poor has grown much wider under obama . Al while he claims hope and change. All while his ACA flounders and causes great uncertainty in the business world. all while the while the middle class shrinks.all while fracking has caused a boom out west. what does judeye say, more of the same ! Obama will go down as the worst prez since FDR, far out pacing that loser carter. They need the immigrant vote as the immigrants will be hooked on welfare as soon as they step foot in the countrty. working people will be labeled greedy by the likes of judeye, all for wanting to keep their money. Judeye thinks she knows more than anyone.

now govt cuts are on the horizon, they already are here. But it wont hit the federal govt yet, but the state and local ones. witness detroit in bankruptcy. Chicago is in trouble along with a host of other cities. Unbridled spending on public employee unions, all well funded and very rich have led to two things. In detroit, the ones who could, the monied people fled. then the industry literaly went south . this left the public employee in an amazing position. after years of saying private enterpise could not function without the holy public stooge , the opposite happened. It is the govt which cannot function without the largesse of private enterpise.I have heard many times public employees saying in erie county that when they work, the govt, erie county works. Wrong, dumb govt employee. detroit proves it.i hope the detroit employees only get a penny on their pension dollar, a judge said it was ok. christopher, can you say greedy public employee ? will it be hard for you ?

Escapee, it's also the cost of flour, sugar, The Emergency Food Assistance Program, and changing a program where big agi-business (10%) gets 74% of all subsidies, including payments to 50 billionaires.

$7 for milk makes soda pop with the morning cereal seem like a very favorable alternative... just imagine the tax that they bestow upon Coke and Pepsi products once that hits.

DK expat; If it costs $7/gallon to get milk to the grocery store, then that’s what is should cost to purchase the milk. Having taxpayers pay farmers to produce more milk than the market will naturally support is a waste of taxpayer dollars. And I hate to think how much money it costs to administer the programs that govern the subsidizing of milk that should not have been produced in the first place.

Sorry (again), but Congress spending its time on naming post offices, worrying about MLB's Hall of Fame, etc. is NOT governance.

They should be focused on the budget, the national debt, the ACA, the farm bill, etc.

Instead, "business as usual" these days in Congress really means doing nothing, but we keep reelecting the same idiots...

Judeye by "immigration" bill do you mean breaking the law long enough to have democrats like you just say "Meh, they have been here so why worry?" Tell you what, you want them allowed in, you pay for them. No more whining about "corporate welfare" or the rich aren't paying their share. You want to allow CRIMINALS a free pass and reward that behavior with US citizenship? Sign up and fund them. Put yours and your families financial future on the line. That's what you are telling me I have to do. Better yet have a family move in with you while you supply them with housing, food, health care. Again, that is what you are telling me I have to do. Either that or I'm a bigot in your amazingly narrow view. How about I'm trying to take care of MY family, not a foriegners squatting illegally in my home.

judye, I AM against taxpayer subsidies for corporations as well. I'm against all of it. I also would like to see tax code re-written such that there a no loopholes that need to be closed, because there won't be any.

What I can't comprehend is how posters from the left, like yourself, don't understand the root of the problem here. It's not that we aren't compassionate. It's not that we hate poor people. None of that is true. What we are fed up with, as middle class Americans, is being squeezed out while it appears the only way to get anything in this country is to be filthy rich or dirt poor. As I mentioned, there are between 25 and 40K worth of goods and services that I pay for my family that welfare loaders are getting for free. You know what I could do with an extra 25K? I might get to retire before I'm dead.

So us conservatives don't whine and say we want the rich people's money, we just say stop giving our money away too.

It other "news" from the Do as I say, not as I do office of Harry Reid. "Washington (CNN) -- Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, one of Obamacare's architects and staunchest supporters, is also the only top congressional leader to exempt some of his staff from having to buy insurance through the law's new exchanges.

Reid is the exception among the other top congressional leaders. GOP House Speaker John Boehner, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell have all directed their staffs to join the exchange, their aides said." Typical democratic party lying weasel. Oh wait, that describes BOTH parties.

A President who ignores the rule of law and has violated the constitution how many times now? The cliff is steep. I do agree with getting rid of some in Congress,Reid,Schumer,Durbin for starters.

jjudeye, you miss my posts agin about the obstructionist democrats since 1820. the libs should have been outlawed for their crimes against humanity. Now, in feigned concern you tell us how great democrats are. The repubs are following the golden rule, do unto others as they have done unto you. a little twist, but the libs, like you are the party of coercion. 7 buck a gallon milk ? Why that will encourage conservation from methane belching cows. saving the planet ! you libs got everything backwards, dk too. the govt did not and cannot make a utopia, only private enterprise can. I ask again, Dk,cronig, judeye about that list of govt programs that gave us modern life ?

dk, you are mistaken. The ACA will cost the american public much more than the shutdown ever did or will. Millions of americans will lose coverage, only to regain it at higher costs.once again, the misguided liberals goof up the system. Some friends i have ,said they saw a sign at a national park, do not feed the animals.. Why? it dulls their sense of survival, makes them dependent on hand outs. So under obama, we have food stamps at the highest levels ever seen. this is seen as a success to a liberal. Anythime you get the people dependent on govt, thats a good thing. Look at the inner city folk. They have 4 generations on welfare, get shot, go to jail and they vote democratic. Ah those liberals.

Sorry, steiner, but when Congress costs the US $24 billion in lost productivity because of the shutdown, when the farm bill sits in limbo and milk could rise to $7/gallon next month, when Congress can’t pass a defense appropriations bill while SecDef looks at closing US commissaries...

...when, out of only 52 bills, Congress passed “important” legislation like (quoting) “the size of precious-metal blanks used in the production of Baseball Hall of Fame commemorative coins” and “to designate the air route traffic control center located in Nashua, New Hampshire, as the Patricia Clark Boston Air Route Traffic Control Center" - -

- - that is government by paralysis and doesn’t do the county any good.
