I would say if he didn't know it was loaded he shouldn't have access to it. Parent neglect for leaving gun where young children can have access to it. There should be some punishment for the parent that was negligent.

You never point a gun at another human, every child knows that gun safety rule. The child who fired the gun should be removed from the home for a week just to teach he and his parents a lesson.

i hope there arent too many readers that think just because its an amish family that the law should leave them alone.they are not above all the english laws. this could have been so much more tragic and thank God, it looks like the little boy is going to make it.he and his family is in our prayers.

Cochran, I don't know why you would think every child knows that when hundreds of children are killed by other children every year. Guns should never, ever be loaded and sitting anywhere. They should only be loaded when they are about to be used.
