The only real solution and the biggest cost savings to town residents is to sit down with surrounding fire districts and negotiate fair and equitable contracts. Besides a savings in the cost of fire protection, most town residents will see their house insurance rates go down. Lets see if the town officials are there to represent the town residents or the villages interests. I suspect politics trumps what is fair, if you look at the party who control both councils it makes perfect sense on what is going on. If they accept this contract at the last minute as they did two years ago will they be proactive on this issue. I suspect as it happened in the last years the answer is NO.

Thereis only one long term solution and that is for the town and the village to merge.
