"Cerne said he believes Zentz is going back on the road for patrols."

Unless Zentz plans on severing herself from the DPD, I'm sure this is the correct assumption. There's very little (if any) OT available to the SRO, but I'm sure Zentz wasn't denied any OT for daily vacancies, parades, funeral processions, etc, giving her equal opportunity to "beef up" her pension like the rest. So now the city will resume paying into her pension and get a temporary reprieve from paying into the new SRO, until he's ready to resume his place among the rank & file, and then a different SRO will fill his spot. Look folks, the DPD & HS are NOT working together to save money! The DPD is using the HS to scam the taxpayers!

DPD's wages, health ins & pension plans cost much more than contracting with a security service! This is just another example of wasteful spending by the BOE.
