Here's a question for you...Unless this was a handgun, why would it have to be "registered". Rifles are not required to be registered in NYS. These charges sound more like someone pushing bogus charges to use as statistics in pushing additional regulation. Welcome to Cuomo's police state.

I assume Eli admitted to owning the unregistered gun, but it sounds like someone else (one of the boy's bros) "..picked up the gun and shot him while playing."

Thank God the boy survived, but it was an accident! Pursuing relatively minor criminal charges against Eli shows just how heartless the cops & prosecutors can be. Keep in mind it's only a "minor charge" PROVIDED the DA decides NOT to seek the max.

What part of: "To Serve & Protect" applies here?
