HEALTH PLAN U.S. rewards failed attempt

January 17, 2014

Take the money and run. That may well be the motto of officials at CGI Federal, the company that botched the rollout of the Obamacare website — www.healthcare.gov — last fall....

Some people's constitution is another person's toilet paper, joew. Or should I say it sure seems that's about as much respect as this current occupant of the Oval office has for the bedrock document of the U.S. What a sad statement on the intelligence of America's public education system. I am not disappointed in the fact he was elected, this is America. Land of opportunity and freedom. No, my disappointment started when the "publicly educated" gave this incompetent administration another term to harm the country. It will take several more presidents, with some serious (finacial) pain to her citizens, to get America back to what she was before GB and now BO. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. Yet America keeps putting the same incompetent fools in office. Why? Because they are sheep led by opinion polls and media rather than take the time to study the candidates.

Anyone read the latest exemptions Obama has "dictated" in yet another slap in the face to the constitution?

robert, you are wrong. i post facts. All you gotta do is lok the m up. Obama said you could keep your policy. Sebellius is in charge and nothing happened. You libs just cant grasp anything i say. Nixon resigned for less.the govt has turned into a giant money wasting machine. defense is not the biggest money waster, it is entitlements. the govt just rolled out another entitlement. America is sunk as we know it. we are like greece. you libs just blatantly ignore facts, name call and other diversions . All in an attempt to paint the right wing as the culprit when it is the left who messed up everything. It started with woodrow wilson and the income tax. Crony capitalism followed next.

Years back, when I worked for one of the large defense contactors on a multibillion-dollar program for a large federal agency, the prime contractor, another large defense company, was running $3M/month over budget. When the program was finally finished, it was two years late and $400M over budget.

I'd quit before then to return to the private sector because, even though the program was important to US security, I couldn't stand the lack of urgency and the "who cares what it costs because the Feds will still pay us" and "the longer we work on this the more we make" attitude that was pervasive in the defense sector.

It's my opinion the same thing happened with CGI Federal . . .

Big governement? Or just more of the same garbage from DC that we see every administration?

"Townes-Whitley and her husband even enjoyed “Christmas with the Obamas” at the White House in December 2010, according to a Facebook album created by Townes-Whitley.

Although neither Michelle Obama nor Townes-Whitley has discussed their relationship, the Christmas event took place just seven months after Townes-Whitley joined CGI Federal as a senior vice president."

Do some research and you'll know why this is costing so much...it's Michelle's school buddy and a no bid contract....

This situation is an example of a wary eye on big government. Most people do not object to paying reasonable taxes, The problem is waste and sweetheart deals that does not end up in some benefit to those paying the taxes. In my thoughts 99 weeks of unemployment should be enough....Extending the benefit would not help get a job for most on the program.....and on and on. A few years ago YOU paid to refurbush Lawrence Welk's childhood home! A robust job creation program is the answer.

The failure by this administration to do its due diligence BEFORE selecting CGI is inexcusable, but making this a partisan issue to smear your opponent doesn't change the fact that it was CGI who failed to deliver what was contracted for.

Can't Congress sue CGI, or would that turn into an even bigger embarrassment should the public learn that NO ONE in Congress, or at the very least, the bipartisan Appropriations Committee, knows anything about govt contracts, or that they ever bother to read such contracts before approving them, much like the bill itself?

Actually, the CGI Federal story is worse than the Rather superficial article.

CGI is a Canadian company out of Montreal that wanted to gain a foothold in US federal contracting. So it bought a US company and formed CGI federal, and hired that company's execs as the execs of its new US subsidiary.

The problem is that the acquired US company had already botched tens of millions in federal contracts for a couple of US agencies. And the same execs were now in charge of CGI Federal.

So.....the fed gov didn't do it's due dilligence and picked a loser that did a loser's job (again).

The military has changes in field ops and involved heavily in R&D and most of those people risk their lives, or are helping those that risk their lives to protect us. I have no problems with them, I do have problems with ACA and the people that voted this in.

cronig and his usual church lady gaggle. A definate slam on religion and women. So cronig, you missed the big picture as usual. The ACA roll out was and is a flop. remember you can keep your policy ? Another lie. how is it failures are looked on as accomplishments by the libs ? how is it that the right, being obstructionist as paul says when the asked to delay the individual mandate is then vindicated when obama and crew delay the mandate if one merely says its a hardship ? Cronig, you gotta do better. merely name calling is not debate, but to a democrat it is.the roll out proives what i say all along. Failure is success and success is failure to a liberal. I just read the libs posts here to find the proof.

Seriously -- how many military programs, from micro to huge, have been over budget and behind schedule???

And the clueless church lady gaggle OBSERVER board berates CGI???

Its yet another sign of a truly, incredible desperate grabbing-at-ANYTHING GOP/RW/TPer/WVa SugarDaddy attempt to discredit ACA.

This one deserves its own personalized, tricked-out blue parking space...

The botched ACA roll out... each day there is a new problem in another state, Michigan, Oregon, Vermont, etc. The billions that are wasted on this social program have been increased by the tax payers who voted for the buffoons that supported it. Those voters are the real problem in America and help create a lot of our waste.

More money than that, it's in the Billions, was spent to allow the computers in the VA to "talk" to the computers in the Department of Defense to speed up the claims process, among other things. They still can't. Government waste isn't new, nor limited to this administration nor any particular party. Read about the Bradley Fighting Vehicle, a situation so absurd a movie was made about it.
