Talk about bad timing. While Dunkirk schools finances seem to be in adequate shape, Fredonia needs all the help it can get....

I suggest you re-read the piece, specifically the part that states which district is in better financial shape. If this was so equally beneficial, Dk wouldn't have made the decision to go back home.

Let's be honest, Fredonia needs Dunkirk just as much as Dunkirk needs Fredonia. This is just a pawn move on a bigger merger later on.

It's poor timing b/c FCS now has to scramble to make up the lost revenue DK brought to the partnership. If the costs were evenly split, as is the norm in most partnerships, then it shouldn't adversely affect next year's budget very much. The question is, will they truthfully disclose how much this lost revenue will affect next year's budget? If so, then one will be able to determine if indeed it was an equal contribution.

Pooling tax resources leads to lower tax resources??? Stupid beyond belief. The reason to pool tax resources is that, stand alone, one doesn't have enough tax resources to begin with...

Don't kid yourself, this issue is not so much about losing a partner as it is about losing the funds the visiting partner provided.
