Dun2009, it is the right of the employer to evaluate it's employees, if the employee don't like what the employers have to say, they find another profession, because it is well know that city employees are well compensated for the efforts as for Dickie, well there is a prime example of some one who under achieved as a city employee and is getting well compensated for a sub-par effort

people in dunkirk are out of touch to what goes on in the city. it's sad when people bash city workers they work hard and put up with alot of bs from city residents . city attorney makes more than workers . don't need fulltime appointed positions at city hall .they all got big raises and still hav'nt settled contracts yet. this is how puppet governments work. don't complain about dicky doo step up and write comments at least someone has guts to do it.

It is common for an attorney in public practice to maintain a law office for low ke yprivate work. Will, contracts, real property purchase/sale and other such small issues. Not find himself out of city hall performing extensive court work while absent from the public office youwork at fulltime.

"Government is the great fiction through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else". Frederic Bastiat

Never has the quote been more appropriate.

Maybe it's not fair to attack one individual when the truth is there are many taxpayer abuses in city hall. Should we not be asking why we need a $60,000 full time mayor in a city of only 13,000 residents? Salaries for the police chief, fire chief and many others are completely out of line and serve as the reason why our community needs a $22 million budget to operate. Adding to that issue is the dominance of city unions and we have a problem that is beyond repair short of dissolving the city charter and becoming part of county government. As a lifelong resident with glowing memories of a growing and prosperous community, I can confirm the fact that the city has been destroyed by poor leadership.

Maybe this loudmouth should run the entire city since he's so vocal about what needs to be changed. There are problems, but it's easy to sit at a keyboard and spout them off instead of put in the time on the ground. We all are guilty of that.

rumble. Of course dicky doo will support the DPw but the city attorney was picked by the democratic committee and dolce being a puppet of same goes along with the decision and the pay. Ya think the police should investigate?

we find it "interesting" Dicky Doo defends the department where he has a family tie or interest, facts being facts, the budget in this city is a "obscene gesture " and magnanimously wasteful, and the wages and benefits paid to all city personal, is proof pudding of those facts

we can only name one place where the taxpayer gets his/hers money's worth and that would be in the city clerks office, and we are not talking about the head of the dept., close second would be well it's a tie, is city hall miss managed in a word yes, and it's not going to get better, don't worry folks in two weeks time this issue as all the others will be wiped away from city taxpayers mind, till the next time, city hall is run like the movie ground hog day, sadly there is no relief in sight for the "shrinking" city population

I have to agree with the writer on this one. The city attorney gets paid $75,000 plus benefits. He works for the taxpayers and we expect a days work for a days pay. Now if any of you are familiar with the city attorney you know that he spends more time walking the halls in city hall. Most is not all cases are contracted out. Now we as intelligent people know why the attorney in question got the job and why he is making $75,000 a year. Was the mayor told what to offer as a starting salary by the Party? Most likely. But we are getting ripped off. Let's see what Dolce does in answer to this. I am thinking nothing. But we shall see.
