I agree that New York State's cuts to SUNY are horrid, and part of a continuing economic disaster for those looking for a higher education. However, I must add that SUNY itself is part of the problem, adding unnecessary programs, ridiculous degrees and courses, and more Administration titles than they could possibly need. SUNY long ago decided they were going "upscale", and looking to upgrade their image to that of more exclusive and much more expensive private colleges. This is nonsense. It was not why SUNY was created. A large part of the price rise for a SUNY education is the direct fault of SUNY leadership. Blaming it on NYS is denying reality.
