March 28, 2014

Ukrainian officials said this month their country’s military will hold joint training exercises with U.S. and British armed forces. That would be an invitation to disaste....

As should the CIC. You say he never served just like Clinton. The he should just resign as CIC anyway.

This administration is an absolute disaster. If the Joint Chiefs of Staff truly care about the troops they should do the honorable thing and resign their commissions.

"Interestingly enough, when GWB was president you heard about the military deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan almost daily. With Obama in the White House, the mainstream media has been strangely quiet. --- More than 1,000 American soldiers have lost their lives in Afghanistan in the last 27 months. This is more than the combined total of the nine years before. Thirty have died in August. During the last month, over 50 additional NATO and US servicemen have been murdered, inside jobs by those who are hired to be a force for good in Afghanistan . The commander in chief is AWOL. Not a peep, although he ordered the White House flag flown at half-staff for the Sikhs that were killed. There is a deep disgust, a fury, growing in the ranks of the military against the indifferent incompetence of this president."

I almost wonder if there isn't an un-elite group of military and former military that love oink more then the Red White and Blue. I know from my many trips to the VA over the years that for the most part Bush was(is) liked and respected. At the same time they think bama man is a wasted, useless president. But then then ones that like bama probably spent time before the mast because of their attitudes towards the Armed Forces of this nation. And the ones like psychotic who never served.

I'm not sure whose these members are he talks with as I am almost monthly on bases and having conversations with men and women in the military. Even when I visit military hospitals as I will be doing again next week, the wounded still speak highly of President Bush.

Must be the only service members that psychotic knows are ones that have benefited from don't ask don't tell. Anyone who backs bama man must be trying to bring America to her knees like he is. Out of the last three democrat presidents only one was man enough to wear the uniform and serve his country. The other two were a draft dodger and a community organizer who didn't have the guts to volunteer either. But if we had still had the draft then I believe he would have done the same as Clinton. Run away.

Nobody should care what an outspoken service member thinks about Obama. What a disservice to our country to talk about whether or not they feel betrayed by Obama. I know lots of service members, and they say that they like Obama. What a surprise that you think that they feel betrayed. Thank you for pointing out that Obama finally started doing something about the pirates. Another Bush failure. And Obama got Bin Laden. Bush refused to, and actually distracted our focus and eventually didn't care to. Troops should feel betrayed, but not towards Obama. My numbers are fine. Washington Post? Aren't they the cheerleaders for the lies and distortions that Bush pushed to get those troops killed? Yeah, they are. What a surprise that they continue the lies. And again, Bush did nothing in regards to Georgia. NOTHING! Who's wars did Obama have to clean up? Mission Accomplished!..and another ten thousand deaths to go. Bravo. I agree that the Ukraine is Europe's problem.

You think maybe this is what he meant when he said he would have the most transparency of any administration. That he would let the enemy see what our troops were doing and how they do it? It's the only thing he has been transparent about.

Unfortunately, we should have never know it was DEVGRU (Seal Team 6) that took out Osama and the Somali Pirates. Their missions are classified and were never commented on by the White House or DOD until now. Them and the other SF counter terrorism groups always operated with secrecy and complete anonymity until this administration decided to use them for political purpose and exposed them to the media and public. Once the mission on Osama was revealed, their operating theater was revealed which most likely led to the shooting down of a Chinook Helicopter with 22 members of DEVGRU on board along with 8 other Americans. If you ever meet any of these men, take to them and you'll find out they feel betrayed.

BTW, the Washington Post this weekend released a survey done among Afghanistan-Iraq Veterans where they prefer GW Bush to Obama 2-1 as their CINC.

Russia did not annex any Georgian territory. Georgia is still Georgia and was not "taken" by Russia! Obama did not get Osama,Seal Team 6 did. Obama was merely continuing the Bush policy of pursuing terrorists. He did however give the go ahead once the hole where the rat was hiding was located. Now could you please cite sources, besides those asked by Stang, that the US is more respected now? Please also give us your report just on the Syrian debacle if you would Phsycho?

Over ten thousand dead troops by Bush? Could you please cite a reference to that?

Right now approximately 5300 troops died in combat since 2001. That includes eight years under Bush and five years under Obama. I guess ten thousand sounds good and you might as well use it as someone will believe you.

Much more respected under Obama? You're joking right?

Obama has done so much more than Bush did when Georgia was taken. By the way, that's a country, and yes republicans, you guys said and did NOTHING! The countries that have been overthrown by the methods Obama used has been wildly more successful than the methods that Bush used. There are idiots here that claim that Obama has his butt handed to him? I guess that you are using that phrase in some other way that I am not acquainted with. I think that the hundreds of thousands of wasted lives and over ten thousand dead troops by Bush, with no apparent benefits, are considered by you to be successful endeavors? Our country is much more respected now, under Obama. Worldwide, we lost every ounce of respect, and that was because of Bush. Obama got Bin Laden. Obama overthrew countries without significant cost. Obama improved our economy. You knuckleheads have to make up outrage to try and impugn Obama. Keep it up, you are doing an lousy job of it.

DKexpat and joew, you two have some excellent points. I sure hope diplomacy works as I don't believe we can do anything conventionally to stop Russia. While the US and it's allies were expending precious blood and recourses in Iraq for the past decade, Russia has been sitting back and rebuilding. If anyone here knows anything about military logistics and moving troops and equipment, you're probably amazed and wondering how Russia mobilized and moved so many troops in such a short time. Although Russia no longer has the satellite countries of Poland, East Germany and a few others when the Soviet Union existed, Russia herself may be a powerful as she was during the height of the Cold War.

What we're seeing now is what happens when an ex KGB Colonel sees weakness in America's leaders. He saw it in 2008 at the end of the Bush presidency when he invaded Georgia and he definitely sees it now.

"Every moment the United States and our allies fail to respond sends the signal to President Putin that he can be even more ambitious and aggressive in his military intervention in Ukraine," McCain said." "The President must now accept that the only way to deal with tyrants like Vladimir Putin is with a clear understanding that they can't be trusted and that only decisive action will deter their provocative moves," Rubio wrote.

If not military actions, what do you think they were talking about? We are using sanctions, increasing them, and freezing assets. What more would you like us to do if not military?

I sure wished there had been more questions and scrutiny of our invasion into Iraq..which was for WHAT REASON?

follow the money....who made money from the invasion? at what cost?
