Look at how far we’ve come

April 22, 2014

Today has been set for the annual observance of Earth Day, focusing on environmental quality throughout the world. In that context, Americans have much about which to be proud....

Saying you don't care about one study is ignoring the facts about the wool that the environmental movement was pulling over your eyes. Ignoring that they were completely wrong on corn-as-Eco-friendly is unacceptable. The fact that it took so long to expose that (and I'm sure the greenies figured it out long ago and kept it quiet) shows that they aren't about being "correct", only being "right". It's hard to 100% believe a large group of people who make their livings off of large government grants.

You see judeye as someone who believes in God and Jesus Christ as the Son of God, I believe God is still in charge and not some progressive ideas. I believe that the end of days won't come until God deems it time. Not someone like you predicting disaster. I do understand that for you not being a Christian it is hard to understand but someday it will all be made known.

""Ninety-seven percent of climate scientists agree that climate-warming trends over the past century are very likely due to human activities" Likely but not proven. Do you know the difference?

What about those who gain financially by telling us the opposite Judeye, like Al Gore(the hypocrite)and his business partner David Blood? There are just as many "copy and paste" articles out there that refute what you post. Preaching to the choir is a waste Judeye, head over to China and/or India and raise h e l l!

localresident..NO it is not accepting one group over another, as if they are equal. It is accepting 97% of ALL climate scientists world wide over the 3%, some of who also conclude the planet is warming, but that humans are not the blame.

No we are not just in another little ice age. Take a look at the data. Read some sources that do not have a financial goal of trying to tell you everything is ok so they can continue to drill and release carbon into our atmosphere.

You do not..and should not..take my word for it. I am not a scientists..just someone who is very concerned, someone who has read numerous reports and articles on this issue, and someone who just completed a course on this very topic from Penn State.

I have listed numerous SCIENTIFIC groups...just go to any of them and read some real science.

Time is running out...We need to take steps to try to address the HUGE impact global warming/climate change will have on ALL of us... or keep your head in the sand..

A study published in May, 2013 examined 11,944 climate abstracts from 1991–2011 in peer-reviewed scientific literature and affirmed that that 97.1% of these scientists endorsed the consensus position that humans are causing global warming.

"A Skeptical Science peer-reviewed survey of all (over 12,000) peer-reviewed abstracts on the subject 'global climate change' and 'global warming' published between 1991 and 2011 (Cook et al. 2013) found that over 97% of the papers taking a position on the subject agreed with the consensus position that humans are causing global warming. In a second phase of the project, the scientist authors were emailed and rated over 2,000 of their own papers. Once again, over 97% of the papers taking a position on the cause of global warming agreed that humans are causing it."

What more do YOU need? The science clearly shows with FACTS that our planet is warming and it is in great part due to human activity.

Obviously none of you 'deniers' bothered to even try to look it up. It is not MY opnion..it is the conclusion, after studying scientific data and research, of 97% of ALL scientists. "Ninety-seven percent of climate scientists agree that climate-warming trends over the past century are very likely due to human activities,1and most of the leading scientific organizations worldwide have issued public statements endorsing this position "NASA Those scientific organizations include:

American Association for the Advancement of Science

American Chemical Society American Geophysical Union American Medical Association American Meteorological Society American Physical Society The Geological Society of America U.S. National Academy of Sciences U.S. Global Change Research Program Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

Additional 197 agencies are linked.

Judeye, has it ever occurred to you that we are smack in between ice ages? That we are literally right in the spot where the planet will experience wild temperature fluctuations from year to year? We go from mild winter one year, and freezing cold a few years later? Kinda like how last winter is 20 years ago from the last east coast-wide storm that lit up the Atantic coast. The chicken little routine is getting very much that: routine.

Wouldn't one sign of being a hypocrite is spouting green energy, global warming , praise to the sierra club, etc. and then not driving a total electric car or taking a diesel powered train across the country.

We can't argue about the need for clean air and water but we also have a need for good paying manufacturing jobs. We didn't get into a mess overnight and we won't get out of it overnight. There should be a balanced approach to achieving a clean environment but an approach that also allows business to operate. Sure, the environment is cleaner but I also remember when Bethlehem Steel had 20,000 employees and there were thousands more good paying jobs at Republic Steel, true Temper and other manufacturing plants. A more balanced approach allowing more time for steady progress while retaining those jobs might have made a whole lot more sense. Politicians caved in to the environmentist whackos and maybe that's because their jobs were not at stake.

now even al gore has made a fortune on the climate change myth. the fortune to be made by forcing people to use unreliabale and expensive energy. judye complains about the koch bros but ignores the likes of al gore and his cronies. judeye cannot understand simple science . there has been no warming of the planet since the 90s. even steven hawking said the computer models are predicting too much warming. by every indication global warming is a myth. science sinks them but the libs dont belive the science of the giant corporations , the ones that make stuff every day, the analytical labs that testify in court. this is himmler at his best.myth and lies pushed as fact. judeye and the libs are insane or stupid. its that simple.

the most credible evidence that sinks judeye on the spot is the analytical one. the infra red scans of co2 vs water or even methane. water and methane trump co2 by several if not many orders of magnitude. it is a rule of logic that if your premise is false, everything you build on it is false. if the libs believe methane absorbs heat and it does, they CANNOT ignore water in the air and focus only on the trace heat absorbing properties of co2 and its trace levels in the air. this aint science folks, its indoctrination or propaganda. to focus only on co2 when water is also made during burning is the big lie from the liberals here. the same libs complain about corporatoions and the money they make. why is that ? corporations will not engage in junk science unless it is crony capitalism. judey is selling junk. she cares she says. shes nuts.

judeye, can you connect the dots. look up wilhelm reich. he and his cloubuster work modified the weather. this work is being done by other parties across the world. it is you judeye who is the unscientific one here. the gals at the epa are clueless too. Most women are clueless at science and should not even vote. the historical record will bear me out on this. over and oiver i post facts and you post nonsense. so called green energy is not green. even dk posted a good study that carbon gains fron ethanol corn are an illusion. plus we are burning food. only a dumbacrat would support that. only dumb women at the epa would. more proof that women are not suited except for the kitchen and elementary school.

now stupid judye actually believed it was the govt that invented the life and science we take for granted. i have posted many facts under other articles, all ignored as they sink judeyes position on the spot. Mother earth judeye ? I cant stop laughing. it is father sky which fertilizes mother earth. more facts for judeye alll ignored by her and the libs. physicists say 96% of the universe is undetectable. something is lurking out there. so judeye and her idiot politicians would have us believe a theory in which 96% of the stuff is lacking. judeye wants us to believe in a theory which contradicts quantum physics. that the universe is derived from an unobservable world.this is heisenberg uncertainty. judeye knows NO science, just illusion.

stupid judeye is at it again. over and over i have said co2 does not trap heat . It never did and never will. Co2 will dissolve in water , carbonic acid. water is the great heat absorber on the planet. it is also the product of burning. burning hydrocarbons yields co2 and water. it is hard to talk to people so stupid as judeye when they ignore simple chemistry. other simple observations they ignore is the amount of energy that your hot water tank uses. the fact that we have a water planet. the fact that co2 is in trace quantities in the air vs water. the fact that in deserts the temp swings are huge. add moisture toi the air and we see less temp swings. the fact that co2 proven by analytical chemistry does not absorb heat. the fact that the scientists were sure we were cooling in the 70s.other than these switcheroos, the libs still think they have facts.

I bet if she quit yapping it would cool the earth by 2 degrees. The amount of hot air she spews forth has got to be one of the biggest causes of warming there is. Who funds the data you think is correct? Al Gore, the sierra club, LWV or some other left wing fringe group.

There were many things done to reverse harmful by-products being introduced into the environment including the air and water. I was all for that. The problem is the radicals keep up with the incessant ranting and raving. You want to save the planet than use your tax refund, take your Sierra Club buddies and head over to Tiananmen Square and protest. Don't leave behind your pal Al Gore and David Blood who are making millions off the backs of all of us using the carbon pollution hype.

JoeW//you so right..

It does not have a direct link to lung cancer. It only " causes addiction to cigarettes and other tobacco products that is similar to the addiction produced by using drugs such as ****** and cocaine"

which they KNEW when they testified before Congress or did you forget that?

The point is, there are FACTS that clearly show our planet is warming and yes it is due in a great part to our human activities.

A warmer planet is having devastating effects around the globe. You would have to really have your head buried in the sand not to know that.

Floods, wildfires, droughts, extreme weather, major weather events, etc etc

Will YOU be able to say to your grandchildren that you did EVERYTHING you could to protect our planet for them?

Let us all hope and pray we are not too late to make a difference.

It is that URGENT.

Anyone who has read and understood the SCIENCE knows that.

It is so difficult to discuss SCIENCE with people who still think facts and opinions are the same thing, and that politics has anything to do with scientific data and facts.

Can you go to NASA or do you now think that is too "liberal"?

Start with the chart that indicates a huge increase in carbon in our atmosphere since the industrial revolution.

Read the SCIENCE that clearly shows a rise in our sea levels which is particularly alarming to those who live by the sea coast or in coastal countries. (hello NYC, Miami, etc)

"All three major global surface temperature reconstructions show that Earth has warmed since 1880" Where did climate depot get that it is not rising..oh yes..they made it up.(you do know who funds it)

Warming of our oceans.

Shrinking of our ice sheets. Just google ice sheets you can see pictures of the melting over the years!

Much more info there. Just try FACTS for a change. Together we can make a difference for future generations..that

Then too ethanol causes damage to lawn and garden equipment, has a much shorter"shelf life"due to how quickly it absorbs moisture,(hygroscopic)and the MPG figure is 12-15%lower than ethanol free gasoline. The Country Fair facility in Dunkirk has installed a ethanol free pump, great news for those that don't want to travel to the res.(about .30 cents more)

Welcome to the flat earth society..living right here in CC!!

Climate Depot...funded by Koch...hmm what the heck do you think they would say? What do you think the tobacco industry said when confronted with studies that linked nicotine to lung cancer and heart disease?

EVERY CREDIBLE STUDY conducted around our globe from any Country...clearly shows with real data and real scientific studies that the earth is warming..and yes it is due at least in part to human activities.

Have you looked at the chart showing the rise in carbon in our atmosphere since the industrial revolution?

DK I really do not care about that study..so then we turn to another source. but turn to other sources we must..and quickly.

I know YOU know this is true. Anyone who is able to read and understand KNOWS this to be true.

Our planet is warming. Increased carbon is in great part the blame. Warmer planet will have extreme impact on climate and weather events as well as rising of sea levels.
