I asked b4 and never got an answer. WHY was the entrance rerouted??? As Phil says it makes absolutely no sense to try diverting traffic 1/2 out of the way to get to the Point.Who are these naysayers? bring them out in the open and chastise them!!!

Agree with Phil - it never made sense to change the entrance to "the back door."

Cudos to my grandson, Brian (front page photo). The reality is that Point Gratiot has been neglected by the city for years. The beach would be a beautiful attraction if it were properly maintained. Consider the annnual antique car show that draws thousands each year to the point. When the decision was made to route traffic thru Point Drive West as an entry to the point it created a barrier for park development and usage. People from out of town can't find the entrance. I am going to say it one more time. The entry to the point belongs on Point Drive North, past Cedar Beach and past the Lighthouse. There are a handful of people who oppose this route and they are destroying one of the city's finest assets.

Pretty embarrassing when you need out of towners to come in and "tidy" up your city. You're either too broke or you don't care anymore. smh..

How about adding 100 able bodied Welfare recipients with rakes? Oops, I forgot, THAT would be demeaning.
