Um, no, the economy can only improve when there is full Republican control. The Disturber had better check their headlines with the GOP so they have the correct talking points, otherwise they will lose important readers like Steiner et al.

The latest report of IPCC has indicated that global warming has latterly been occurring at the rate of 0.05 degrees per decade, plus or minus 0.1 degrees Celsius. Meaning, the observed rate of warming is less than their margin of error.

Not Steiner Judeye but here's one-"The NIPCC report finds the human impact on climate is very small, and as a result, any warming that may be due to human greenhouse gas emissions is likely to be so small as to be invisible against a background of natural variability. The authors of the NIPCC study do not believe man-made global warming is a crisis, or that scientists know enough about how the climate works to make policy-relevant recommendations to the world’s government leaders". The planet is "burning up",really? Check your thermostat!

Steiner..I would more than be glad to answer that question if I had more space and were able to make direct links.

Can you explain what is happening with the carbon in our atmosphere? Can you explain the melting of our ice caps..the glaciers...the rising in the sea levels...the drastic increase in carbon since the industrial revolution...the impact that it has had on our climate and the increase in temperature of our planet?

There is so much evidence..NOT OPINIONS BUT FACTS....all you have to do is google it. See for yourself....we are in a crisis...and some are wanting to play the fiddle while our planet burns up...

I am not saying the sky is falling...I am saying our planet temperature is rapidly increasing..and it is due to us...burning fossil fuels.

Show me ANY scientific study that disputes that.....

alfalfa, here are a couple Fredick Bastiat quotes for you to ponder. He was one of the greatest economic philosophers the world has ever known.

"People are beginning to realize that the apparatus of government is costly. But what they do not know is that the burden falls inevitably on them".

"Law cannot organize labor and industry without organizing injustice".

"The plans differ; the planners are all alike..."

I don't watch Fox news, the tax increases paying for public employees priced me out of this over a year ago.

From PBS and history books. ever since the fed was created we have had in america a steady creep up in prices. thanks wilson. nixon put the kicker in when he terminated bretton woods. he had to. the libs great society and vietnam war had diluted the purchasing power of the dollar, the worlds currency. the banks reacted and so did OPEC, they raised prices. every one blamed those greedy energy producers. it was our govt that diluted the money suppky. got a money problem ? the govt started it somewhere. just like the housing bubble 30 years later. get rid of the fed and the income tax. all will get better.

since certain people like quotes, here is a good one from my favorite guy. werner von heisenberg. He said, society advances faster if we do not have to learn how to do simple basic things over and over. for liberals, this means learning the energy chemical curve all over again. even when it is irreplaceable to modern life. it would be merely amusing if we always had to teach stupid liberals.but since they are attempting to undo what has been learned over centuries , it is a serious problem. green energy was tried and found wanting in america, c1865. thats why std oil grew to 1.5% of the US economy around 1900.this frightened the govt in america.see cronig?, private enterprise, no govt program could soon topple the govt if it wanted. pipelines were found to be best as teamster union guys messed up oil transport. its those stupid union guys again. back then gals could not vote and wreck things. today, they seem bent on it. right judeye ?

hey tj and joew, you see what is going on.The stupid libs cannot grasp that we have a liquidity problem. It is the same now as just before the 1929 crash. I get this story from history books and PBS, not Fox news liberal posters. the govt did not make the american economy great. I have listed plenty of evidence for that and we see a apost that tj and i are lovers. stupid liberals ! tj, hauling oil by train is aa huge mistake and a denial of what Std oil knew 100 yers ago. pipelines are the way. but when you have such utterly stupid liberals like christopher judeye and the rest, well, the business MAN will get the oil to the market. the oil should be in a pipe, not on the rails. our govt has gotten so stupid as to be unbelievable.

see below.

Everyone has moved their investments into equities. When the collapse happens, which it will, the pension and 401K plans are going to take a huge hit. This is why what we see is a liquidity trap.

The BLS said Friday that labor participation rate is at a level we have not seen since 1978. It is the lowest in 35 years. What this says is that many people have simply lost hope. We have so many economic problems facing us and politicians simply ignore them all. The day of reckoning can't be to far away. A game changer forever would be if the dollar ever loses its reserve currency status. The ramifications of this would be so dire people can't imagine how dramatic the change would be. Overnight, the ability to print money would be taken away. Imagine that. The US would be forced to start minding the store.

JoeW, you have a grasp on what is going on. The QE is a liquidity trap. We have already passed the no going back now line. All this taper talk is just talk. Like you say the end of QE would cause the interest rate to spike. Even a below normal interest rate of 5% and we are talking a trillion alone annually on the debt. The Fed has become the buyer of last resort. The demand to buy the US debt from Japan and China has weakened considerably. Tax season will give the government some breathing room, but they will run out of money and the printing machine will start again. This has to end badly, the only question is when. Operation twist postponed facing the music a little longer as current liabilities were moved into long term obligations while interest rates are low. The stock market is being propped up by artificial stimulation and there is no return on bonds because of the low interest rate. cont.

It if wasn't for quantitative easing,)that's the Central Bank creating money by simply adding a few zeros to the balance sheet)and buying both corporate and government bonds we would be even more worse off. The value of the dollar because of the QE policy has suffered and will continue to decline. Should the Central Bank cease the QE policy, interest rates will skyrocket by the way.

Just for you "Alfalfa",this from CBS-(MoneyWatch) The labor participation rate, the percent of the civilian population in the labor force, is expected to remain flat through at least the end of 2014, according to a new survey. If true, this would mean the U.S. economic recovery will stay about where it is for another year and a half.

Since the end of the Great Recession, the unemployment rate has improved primarily because of a drop in the labor participation rate and not the number of people getting new jobs. From 2006 to 2013, the rate dropped by 2.75 percent, from 66.1 percent to 63.4 percent.

This has to be all lies because fox news says otherwise , the numbers are misconstrued by Democrats just like the obamacare number's . Fox news knows how to count just ask their election guy Carl Rove. I have never seen a party pray for the economy to tank just so they can point their fat finger at the president

All indications are that China will replace America next year as the worlds greatest economy. If our country ever recovers it will not be because we have a great government. America is saddled with corrupt government and public sector unions. There are no easy answers until and unless the average citizen wakes up and forces a new direction. The only reason for improved interest in our manufacturing sector is that it has become more cost effective to manufacture in America due in part to union elimination in the private sector and rising wages in foreign countries.

here is something for you hazardous cargo worriers. I followed a delivery truck to a liqour store. I noticed that there were no flammable placards on the truck. there was plenty of vodka and whiskey on that truck. If that was any other chemical truck, it would have to have flammable placards on it.i have seen several unplacarded liqour trucks . if a chemical guy like myslef did that. i could get a fine. if repeated, maybe jail time. so gals, unless this changed in the last few months, think of all that booze going around in disguise as regular stuff. just think if the fireman did not know what the truck had.

Christopher says, don't blame BHO, he inherited this mess. Who spent the 870 billion $ stimulus on baling the states out, pouring money in the teachers union and wasting billions on green energy plants that went bust. Who paid millions for the government healthcare website that took off with a big THUD? Who paid more millions to the same company to come in and fix it? Was it just coincidence the owner of this company was black and went to the same college as BHO's wife Michelle? Crony capitalism at its worst. Who finally came it and fixed the website? It was the great minds in the private sector from Google, Microsoft and Amazon that finally got it off the ground. Where was the MSM on this? BHO is ruining the country and Christopher and his ilk cheer him on.
