May 5, 2014

How would an individual respond as an employer if he or she found out a worker had falsified his time cards? Would that individual give the worker a raise? Probably not, because the individual would......

There is no hope for Chautauqua county none at all. To allow an employee to remain on the payroll much less give him a raise shows the leadership in the county. Does anyone care? NO. This is just not limited t the county it's happening all over the county. This guy gets caught get a pay raise and laughs all the way to the bank. Come election time all this will be forgotten and the same incompetents will be re elected.

tjef The sickening thing about the meter attendant is no matter what else happens he will walk away with his taxpayer paid pension even if he goes to prison. I know I will here the BS that he paid into it too so all he should get is the amount he paid in that should carry him over for a couple weeks.

You cite bigger/costlier cases involving fraud/theft to minimize your stealing from your employer, but any way you slice it, it's still stealing! I wonder if your boss would understand & accept this explanation, too? In light of how much time you spend on NON-related work, yet you repeatedly accuse public workers of being lazy, it leads me to conclude that PC is much more qualified at dealing with someone who has the mental issues that you obviously have. Get well soon.

Captain, we have people in the IRS getting millions in bonus money who do not pay their taxes. Police officers are padding their pensions with excessive overtime. We have a local attorney who made a million dollars his last 4 years of employment in the public sector who is now getting a pension of 120K a year of which he will pay no income tax on. We have 17 or 18 Superintendents getting over a 100K a year. If you are concerned with me being on the computer a few minutes you better finish your name to Captain Queeg and start looking for the missing strawberries.

tj: it's pretty clear you abuse this trust by spending an excessive amt of time on a computer (for personal use) while being paid. Just b/c you're employed in the private sector doesn't make your actions any less of a terminable offense. The code of ethics you speak of, and repeatedly violate, get most people fired.

Captain, I am trusted more than most anyone within the orization I work for. I am sure I have been tested over the years to gain this trust. I am amazed by how much trust the company has in me. I guess over the years I have earned it. I have a code of ethics that I live by.

concerned, I heard on the way to work on the national news a NY State parking meter attendant has been accused of stealing 90K in meter money. Captain probably thinks this person should be promoted to head up the NY State DOT.

"...public loyalist begrudge someone a few minutes on the computer to voice their opinion." A few minutes? HAHAHA!

I fully support CBA modifications (among other admin cost reforms) to reduce public labor costs (especially pensions) b/c poor communities like DK can't afford it anymore, however, tj has got to be the biggest hypocrite ever; accusing public workers of receiving excessive pay & benefits for minimal work, all the while he spends excessive personal time on his computer during normal working hrs, allegedly under multiple names to boot!

If tj has a traditional job, and his boss knew how much personal time he spent on here (while paying him to perform work-related duties), tj would be fired in a second, and most would agree he deserves it.

tjef notice Christopher is smart enough not to justify what the employee did so he just makes comments about everyone who voices their dissatisfaction!

These public loyalist begrudge someone a few minutes on the computer to voice their opinion. We have 6 paid holidays a year. How many in the public sector 15-20? We get 1-2 paid vacation weeks a year. How many do they max out in the public sector 4-6 weeks. We get 1 week sick or personal. What is it in the public 2 weeks. On top of that the teachers are taking a 1 or 2 week break every time I turn around during the school year, then take a full 2 months off during the summer. Tell me who is lazy? What is worst is they teach the children so little. We are being left light years behind other countries in our education system. This is so sad. Yet, they deny everything I say. They must not care.

The Democrats entire platform appears to lie, cheat and steal. Your doing a wonderful job. What is baffling is how you manage to get away with it. Well the entire next generation is being dumb downed in the public education system. It looks like this country has seen its best days. Hey over 200 years, that is longer than most empires lasted. We could have went further, but that is not going to happen. Obummer will not have it.

So I will put down Christopher and Captain as having no problem with falsifying time cards. Some Captain, people have walked the plank for much less.

At least you 2 admit I do work, that is more than mattdillon will acknowledge. Some people actually save the company enough money where it ends up costing the company nothing for employing that person. In fact, the company makes money having the individual on its payroll. This concept is totally foreign to the blood sucking public employees so how could you even begin to understand. Go do some more busy work. We wouldn't want to challenge your brain and get some those cells exercising.

tj claims he hasn't had a pay raise in 5 yrs, but considering the vast amt of time he spends posting daily comments on this site, I'd say he's lucky to still have a job.

...and he accuses public employees of being under-worked & over-paid?

Politicians protect them selves by continually enlarging government to get public employee votes, increasing the welfare money to get those votes and receive huge campaign contributions from the rich. Any attempt to change any of the above will fail as the supreme court recently proved by stating money given for campaigns is freedom of speech. You are looking at Greece in the making! This will not until the blue collar private sector is driven into bankruptcy and the revolution begins and it is coming!

Government Contest - This years contest will be the best idea to pile drive the taxpayer into the ground knocking him out cold. We need the taxpayer to be dazed and confused so we can implement more devious plans for our own selfish interest. The winner will have the opportunity to ride in the back of a squad car as we ticket the poor people driving old cars for one thing or another.

What would happen if the eployee at Mayville got caught stealing office supplies. I would think a promotion would be in order following this logic. And I am the one who is crazy?
