EATON, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a 60-year-old man has died from injuries suffered when his motorcycle ran into a deer on a central New York road.

The Madison County sheriff's office tells local media outlets that Daniel Gorman of Oriskany Falls was traveling on Route 20 around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when he hit a deer crossing the road in the rural town of Eaton, 30 miles east of Syracuse.

Deputies say Gorman was ejected from his motorcycle. A passerby saw the crash and called 911.

Gorman was taken to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, where deputies say he was pronounced dead.
