GEDDES, N.Y. (AP) — A 47-year-old central New York woman has died after she lost control of her Chevy Trailblazer and crashed near the state fairgrounds in suburban Syracuse.
A report from the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office says Karen Jones of Van Buren was turning onto State Fair Boulevard shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday when she drove into the divider separating the lanes, rolled across the street and landed in a ditch. The engine compartment caught on fire and Jones had to be extricated from the wreckage.
She was pronounced dead at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.
