NEW YORK (AP) — A New York City man who intervened in the beating of a man pulled out of his car and set upon by a group of bikers says he "felt intense danger" as he told them to stop.
Sergio Consuegra says he wishes he could have done more. He had been on his way to church on Sept. 29 when he saw the SUV stop and a bunch of motorcyclists approach.
The driver was on the ground when Consuegra stepped in between him and the bikers and told them to go.
Police have said the bikers stopped the SUV on a highway, attacked the vehicle and pulled the driver from the car on 178th Street after he plowed over a motorcyclist from Massachusetts while trying to escape.
