NEW YORK (AP) — Three of the four upper level lanes of the George Washington Bridge will be closed at night for much of the weekend.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says Friday from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday the eastbound lanes will be closed. It says from 10 p.m. Saturday night through 10 a.m. Sunday morning the lanes will be closed in both directions.
From 9 p.m. Sunday night through 5 a.m. Monday morning the westbound lanes will be closed.
The Port Authority warned drivers to expect significant delays. It said travelers passing over the Hudson River should use the bridge's lower lanes — or take the Lincoln or Holland Tunnels instead.
