Robert and Rita (Ruszaj) Boyland of Forestville celebrated their 50th anniversary with more than 125 friends and family at the Sheridan VFW in June.
The couple was married on Feb. 15, 1958 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Silver Creek. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Karl A. Kriesel. Wedding attendants were Norman and Eleanor Wallace.
Mr. Boyland is the son of the late Walter and Margaret Boyland. He is a retired truck driver. Mrs. Boyland is the daughter of the late Alex and Florence Ruszaj. She is a retired bank manager.

The couple has three children - David Boyland of Cortland; Mark Boyland of Clarksville, Md.; and Jim (Julie) Boyland of Powder Springs, Ga. They have six grandchildren.
The anniversary evening included a dinner buffet, music, dancing, conversation and a slideshow showcasing family photographs spanning the 50 years, all put together in secret by their children and grandchildren. They were also gifted a Hawaiian cruise vacation by their family. Guests attended from Georgia, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania and surrounding areas.
