Dr. and Mrs. Bill Schall

Bill and Carol Schall of Farmville, Va., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at the Farmville United Methodist Church. They were married on Aug. 23, 1958 at Dearborn Baptist Church in Buffalo. The Schalls formerly lived at 90 Central Ave., Fredonia.

Preceding the reception in the social hall of the church, the Schalls repeated their vows in the church sanctuary with the Rev. Sylvia Meadows officiating. Their daughter, Dr. Susan Schall-Morrison of Front Royal, Va., was the matron of honor and their son, Dr. Gregory Schall of Washington Court House, Ohio, was the best man. Sons Kenneth of Plymouth, Mich., and Christopher of Lexington, Va., were the ushers. Granddaughter Emma Grace Schall was the flower girl and grandsons Garrett, Jack and and Jonathan Schall escorted their grandparents into the sanctuary. Mrs. Sue Eggleston of Appomattox, Va., was the harpist for the ceremony.

Dr. Schall is retired from Longwood University, where he was dean of the College of Education and Human Services. Mrs. Schall is a homemaker and retired from the State University of New York Research Foundation in 1990.

Family, relatives and friends came from Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina, Michigan and New York. The couple resides at 1701 Briery Road in Farmville.
