9-10 Year old Boys Baseball All Stars

Fredonia 13 Westfield 3

Fredonia banged out 13 hits in beating Westfield Saturday afternoon. Noah Fleckenstein (double), Lucas Voss (two doubles) and Drew Coniglio (double) each belted out three hits.

Mike Pucci (double) added a pair of hits while Brent Carmello and Vince Gullo each added a single. Lucas Voss and Jared Burmaster shared the pitching duties with Voss picking up the win.

For Westfield, Bret Gens had a double and Greg Schroeder added a single. Eric Fermier and Ty Bentham piched well in the defeat.

Annual Swim Meet to be held in Westfield

The Annual Welch Field Swim Meet will be held on Saturday, Aug. 15.

Hockey coaches needed

The Northern Chautauqua County Youth Hockey Association is accepting letters of interest from individuals interested in coaching a house or mohl team for the upcoming season.

This includes teams in the Mosquito, Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee Mohl, Bantam Mohl , Midget Mohl and Girls divisions.

Dunkirk Fall Sports Physicals

Physicals for Dunkirk High School's fall sports teams will be held on the following dates: Thursday, July 30; Thursday, Aug. 6; Thursday, Aug. 13.

Physicals will be held from 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. in the High School nurses' office. All athletes need to make sure they have all their necessary paperwork filled out prior to arriving for their physical.

Brocton Little League banquet

Brocton Portland Little League (T-ball, minors, majors and girl's softball) will be having the End of Season Banquet on Aug. 2 at the Community Park in Portland at 5 p.m. All players are asked to attend.

GT Classic at Shorewood C.C. to benefit Gary Tripp, Roswell

The committee has chosen Sunday, Sept. 13 for its first fundraiser to benefit Gary Tripp and Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

The golf outing is open to the public, with sign ups (first 100) being taken at the Kosciuszko Club in Dunkirk. The event will start at 10 a.m. with coffee and pastries and an 11 a.m. four-man scramble shotgun start, lunch to be served at the turn. Dinner and awards will begin at 5:30 p.m. with cocktails and dinner to follow at the Kosciuszko Club. The cost is $95.00/person.
