Dunkirk, Gowanda open season with sweeps

The Dunkirk Marauders (4-0) topped the Southwestern Trojans (0-4) 4-0, Monday in CCAA Division 1 bowling at Lucky Lanes.

Dunkirk's scores were 949, 1,003-929-2,881 while Southwestern finished with scores of 761-741-743-2,225

Pat Meyer was the high roller for the Marauders with a line of 224-171-227-622. Tony Dimmer bowled games of 183-234-201 for a 618 series. Joel Moser had games of 208 and 204 for a 571 total while Josh Sobilo scored a 565 series and game scores of 189-199. Matt Haase added a high game of 205 in the win.

Leading the Trojans was Tom Dietrick, who had a 175 game and a 487 series. Ben Berry rolled a 171 game and a 471 series. Steven Poole had a high game of 170 while Taylor West added a 163.

Dunkirk will matchup against Jamestown today.

In the girls' match, the Dunkirk Lady Marauders (3-1) took a 3-1 win over the Southwestern Lady Trojans (1-3) with team scores of Dunkirk 863-715-767-2,345 total while Southwestern totaled 2,089 with game scores of 657, 764 and 678.

Kayla Kubera started the year with a strong performance. She had game scores of 216 and 199, totaling 578 while Lindsy Deloniak tallied a high game of 196 for a 456 series. Andrea Hobbs also had a 456 series. Her high game was 170. Jessica Clark's high game of 178 helped her to a 448 total. Erin Larson provided a 168 high game in the win.

Jenny Goodwill was Southwestern's leading lady with scores of 168, 203 and 157 for a 520 series. Shelby Lunz recorded a 511 series and game scores of 153, 211, 147. Jessica Watson rolled a 143 game.

Gowanda 4, Jamestown 0

GOWANDA - Ryan Gates' 258-160-227-645 led the Gowanda Panthers to an impressive sweep of Jamestown at K&L Lanes.

Jarred Bogardus contributed with a 155-236-210-601 and Justin Grimm had a high game of 206.

The Panthers' linescore read 977-980-900-2,857 while Jamestown combined for a 890-833-780-2,503.

Nolan Farr led the Red Raiders with a 181-192-169-542.

Silver Creek 4, Falconer 0

SILVER CREEK - Silver Creek (4-0) opened the CCAA Division 1 bowling season with a four-game sweep of Falconer (0-4), at Lakeview Lanes, on Monday.

The Black Knights recorded scores of 825, 942 and 889 for a total of 2,656 while Falconer came in with scores of 756, 907 and 869, for a total of 2,532.

Leading Silver Creek was Shane Ryan, who bowled a high game of 216, finishing with a match-high 633 series. Also for the Black Knights, Jordan Naudasher added a 211-603, Steve Myers a 538 and Tyler Steklasa a 535.

For the Golden Falcons, Matt Ericson rolled a 201-535 while teammate Doug Trapani chipped in with a 523.

In the girls' match, Silver Creek cruised to a four-game drubbing of Falconer, using scores of 661, 749, 768- 2,178 to earn the win. The Lady Golden Falcons finished with games of 584, 503 and 548, for a total of 1,635.

For Silver Creek, Liz Golubski had a 501, Kapree Nordine a 472 and Brandi Olsen a 420 while Falconer was led by Jenn Trusso's 421.

Division 2

Forestville 4, Clymer 0

The Forestville Lady Hornets, looking to defend their CCAA Division 2 title, opened the season with a strong victory over Clymer on Monday in girls' high school bowling.

Ashley Howard's 210-513 paced Forestville to a 4-0 victory. The home team's linescore read 568-622-622-1,812 while Clymer combined for a 562-541-503-1606 at Lucky Lanes.

Freshman Samantha Nosbisch rolled a 194-475 for Forestville while Emily Dillenburg had a 461 series in the win.

The Lady Pirates were led by Caitlyn Livermore's 154-426.

On the boys' side, the Hornets swept the Pirates, 4-0. Forestville's linescore read 886-926-919-2,731 while Clymer charted a 571-655-583-1,809,

The Hornets were led by Dakota Griewisch's 206-208-607 and Spenser Johnson's 200-568. Meanwhile, Mike Franklin cracked a 209-544 and Cody Schrader finished with a 224 in the win

Clymer's Zachary Newton rolled a 425 series.

Brocton 4, Westfield 0

The Brocton Bulldogs (4-0) blanked the Westfield Wolverines (0-4), 4-0, Monday in Division 2 bowling at Lucky Lanes. The Bulldogs' scores were 834, 773, 654-2261 to Westfield's scores of 541, 518, 546-1605

The high series for Brocton belonged to Nolan Priolette, who rolled a 488 with a high game of 182. John Nickerson scored a high game of 196 while Patrick Bigelow bowled a 192 high game. Kory Crandall and Patrick Hodge each rolled high games of 179.

For the Wolverines, Robbie Burgess had the high series with a score of 403. His high game was 151.

In the girls' match, Brocton (4-0) opened their CCAA Division 2 girls' bowling season with a four-game sweep of Westfield (0-4).

The Lady Bulldogs finised the day with scores of 507, 530 and 475, for a total count of 1,512 while the Lady Wolverines finished with scores of 409, 432 and 336, for a total of 907.

Brocton was led by Stephanie Woleben's 418, Christina Karalus' 398 and Sydney Morello's 145 and 139.

Andrea Gundlach led the Lady Wolverines with a 350 while Alahana Nusom added games of 117 and 113.
