Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Haase Sr. celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 3, 2009. They renewed their vows at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church where they were married. A cocktail reception for 150 people followed, hosted by their children Mr. and Mrs. Addison (Michele) Bull, Mr. Lawrence Haase Jr. and Carol Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin (Molly) Pagan and Mr. Mark Haase.
The hors d'oeuvres table was centered with a yellow and white carnation and gold mum centerpiece flanked with yellow candles. The hors d'oeuvres were displayed with white lights entwined between them.
Many from the original wedding party were present. Those in attendance were Mr. and Mrs. James Jagoda, Ms. Concetta Raths, Mrs. Mary Woelfle and Mr. Gerald Haase.

Mr. Haase was owner of Weiss Hardware in Dunkirk and Mrs. Haase is a homemaker. The couple have nine grandchildren and one deceased son, Randy Haase.
