Melissa Erin Miga and Harley Dean Smith of Dunkirk were united in marriage on July 17, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. at the Dunkirk Conference Center in an outdoor ceremony officiated by Rev. Frank Torain, friend of the couple.
The bride is the daughter of John and Audrey Miga and granddaughter of Mary Zachary and Theresa Miga, all of Dunkirk. The groom is the son of Natalie Allen of Hector, N.Y., and Leonard Smith of Dunkirk, and grandson of the late Carter and Barbara Smith of Dunkirk.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a white satin halter style bridal gown accented with sequins and crystal appliques with a cathedral train and a crystal-edged veil. She carried a cascade style bouquet of calla lilies, white roses and blue hydrangea.

Serving as maid of honor was Karen Vincent of Fredonia, best friend of the bride. Bridesmaids included Amber Siragusa of Dunkirk, friend of the bride; Anne Miga of Rosemount, Minn., sister-in-law of the bride, and Laura Allen of Hector, sister of the groom. They wore pool colored gowns with a side drape affixed with a crystal brooch and carried bouquets of white lilies and roses.
Leonard Smith of Dunkirk served as best man for his son. Groomsmen included Austin Allen of Hector, brother of the groom; Brian Miga of Rosemount, brother of the bride; and Joe Dietterich of Hamburg, friend of the couple. Goddaughter Sophia Miga and Lily Miga of Rosemount, both nieces of the bride, served as flower girls, and Lucas Pchelka of Fredonia, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.
A reception was held at the Dunkirk Conference Center with 150 guests in attendance. The couple plan to honeymoon at a later date and are now residing in Silver Creek.
