Watson Township sets Clean Up Day
August 23, 2010
The Watson Township Supervisors have scheduled Saturday, Oct. 2., for the township’s Fall Trash Clean Up Day at the Community Building from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for township residents and campers.
No batteries, solvents or propane tanks will be accepted. Tires will be collected; fee for passenger-size tires will be $1.50 and a higher fee for larger-size tires.
Ditching of township roads has been completed for county aid project. The township will be receiving $565 toward the project.
The township has been designated as a Wildfire Community and will be pursuing plans with the U.S. Forest Service.
The supervisors reviewed a letter which will be sent to campers and residents in the Hearts Content area. The Cherry Grove Volunteer Fire Department, which is the primary fire department in the Hearts Content area, has requested the letter be sent.
There are over 100 camps in the area and many have not posted the 911 service address numbers provided in conjunction with the Warren County 911 Addressing Project. Residents and campers are being asked to post the house number to assist the fire department when it responds to emergency situations. The township also has fire agreements with Tidioute and Pleasant VFDs. Property owners should contact the township secretary if they need assistance.
The supervisors are reviewing an Adult Entertainment Ordinance for adoption drawn up by the solicitor. It will be discussed further at their meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, in the Community Building.
