Food service inspections announced for August

The City of Warren recently released the results of restaurant and food service inspections for the month of August. Inspections were completed, and the following establishments have valid licenses until Aug. 31, 2011: ¯ Quizno’s, 1060 Pennsylvania Ave. W., with no violations. ¯ Westend Take-out, 1402 Pennsylvania Ave. W., with no violations. ¯ Nichols-n-Dimes, 1101 Pennsylvania Ave. W., with four critical violations: hand-washing station not used for just staff hand washing, cutting board needs to be cleaned or replaced, pizza was not at proper hot holding temperature and flies were observed in the preparation area; and three thermometers were not provided in all refrigerators and freezers, the staff was not wearing hair restraints in the food preparation area and the preparation area floor needs to be repaired. According to health officer Dr. Dennis Olson, the violations were discussed in detail with the owner, and many were corrected on site. ¯ Holy Redeemer, 11 Russell St., with no violations. ¯ Peppermill Restaurant, 1505 Pennsylvania Ave. E., with no violations. The following six-month inspection was also completed by the City of Warren: ¯ Liberty Street Cafe, 211 Liberty St., with one non-critical violation: kitchen floor needs to be cleaned around the appliances. Warren County restaurant and food service inspections were performed by the state Department of Agriculture. The following establishment was inspected and found to be out of compliance: ¯ Grand Valley Boy Scouts Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with one critical violation: complete temporary hand-washing facility was not set up at the beginning of inspection. The following establishments were also inspected and found to be in compliance: ¯ Bear Lake VFD Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ Brokenstraw Grange Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ Cornplanter Concession, Warren County Fair Grounds, Pittsfield, with one non-critical violation: no chlorine sanitizer test strips were available. ¯ Eagles Touchdown Club Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with one non-critical violation: no chlorine sanitizer test strips were available. ¯ Eisenhower Bandtastic Boosters Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ Eisenhower Knighttime Players Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ Fair Concession Trailer, Warren County Fair Grounds, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ Fairmont Tavern, 118 E. Main St., Youngsville, with no violations. ¯ Fowler’s French Fries Concessions, Warren County Fair Grounds, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ Fowler’s Taffy, Warren County Fair Grounds, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ Fowler’s Tropical Dreams, Warren County Fair Grounds, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ Garland Ridge Runners Muzzleloader Club Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ Holiday Confections, Warren County Fair Grounds, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ Docksiders Cafe, 250 Marina Ln., Clarendon, with no violations. ¯ Lander United Methodist Church Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ Lander VFD Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with one critical violation: hot water supply line to the kitchen sink needs repaired. ¯ Lander VFD, 4400 Miller Hill Rd., Russell, with no violations. ¯ Molnar’s Lemonade, Warren County Fair Grounds, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ Pitt Concession, Warren County Fair Grounds, Pittsfield, with one non-critical violation: no chlorine sanitizer test strips were available. ¯ Rite-Aid, 1079 Market St. Ext., with no violations. ¯ Ross Funnel Cake Concession, Warren County Fair Grounds, Pittsfield, with one critical violation: the temperature of the waffle batter, which contains eggs, was being held at 65?F. ¯ Ross Pizza Concession, Warren County Fair Grounds, Pittsfield, with one critical violation: an employee’s open beverage container was observed in the food preparation area; and two non-critical violations: ice scoop was not stored properly and water supply didn’t have a backflow prevention device. ¯ RSVP Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ Salvation Army Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with three non-critical violations: food thermometers were not available, no ware-washing sinks were set up for washing dishes at the facility during the day and hose water connection was not secure causing wastewater to overflow onto the ground in the back storage area. ¯ Spring Creek Church Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ St. Luke’s Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ Stanley Hose Company Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ Track Concession, Warren County Fair Grounds, Pittsfield, with one non-critical violation: scattered mouse droppings were found in stock room. ¯ Warren County 4-H Center, Warren County Fair Grounds, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ Warren County Pomona Grange, Warren County Fair Grounds, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ Warren County Farm Bureau, Warren County Fair Grounds, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ Youngsville United Methodist Church Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ Youngsville Eagle Instrumental Boosters Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with no violations. ¯ Zem Zem Hornets Warren County Fair booth, Pittsfield, with one non-critical violation: meat slicer was not located under a roof, tarp or canopy.
