JAMESTOWN - The general public is being given a wonderful opportunity to participate in a workshop for teachers and caregivers of children aged 3 to 7 and it's free.
On Tuesday, Oct. 5, "Growing Up WILD" will be offered from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Audubon Center and Sanctuary, 1600 Riverside Road, off Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren.
"Growing Up WILD" is an early childhood interdisciplinary curriculum that builds on children's sense of wonder about nature and invites them to explore wildlife and the world around them.

The Audubon is presenting “Growing Up WILD,” an early childhood education workshop for teachers and other caregivers of children aged 3 to 7. These children are learning firsthand about woolly bears.
Through a wide range of activities and experiences, "Growing Up WILD" provides an early foundation for developing positive impressions about the natural world and lifelong social and academic skills. Activities are designed to meet Head Start Domains and NAEYC Accreditation Criteria.
The schedule for the day is:
9:30 to 11:30 a.m. - Audubon Workshops with staff naturalists
11:30 a.m. to12:30 p.m. Lunch
12:30 to 3:30 p.m. - Growing Up WILD with Megan Boice-Green of the New York State Department of Conservation
Not only is the program free, participants will receive the "Growing Up WILD" curriculum at no charge. A donation basket will be put out to cover expenses. Participants will need to dress for the weather and bring their own lunches.
Reservations are required. Registration is open to the general public Sept. 16-22. Wednesday, Sept. 22 is the deadline for registration.
