County provides furnishings for Tidioute Health Center
September 25, 2010
The Warren County Commissioners have approved a grant to provide furnishings for the new Tidioute Health and Dental Center .
The grant in the amount of $11,208 from the state’s Health and Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) will go to Sanner Office Supply of Erie to provide furnishings for the building, which is expected to open in October.
Past grants from HRSA have paid for the health center’s dental equipment and computers.
In other business, the commissioners named the Warren County Chamber of Business and Industry (WCCBI) as the Local Economic Development Assistance (LEDA) agency for Warren County for the 2010-2011 fiscal year.
The WCCBI has been the county’s LEDA agency over the past several years. It will be awarded approximately $10,000 for being named the lead LEDA agency.
Commissioner Terry Hawk noted that the LEDA funding has been significantly reduced from last year. Commissioner John Bortz said that LEDA had awarded the WCCBI $25,000 in past years for being named the county’s lead agency for economic development.
The commissioners awarded a bid for $49,650 to McCreary Roofing to replace the shingle roof on the Rouse Annex building. Hawk said the commissioners received two bids for the project. He said a local architect reviewed McCreary’s bid and assured the commissioners it was in order.
“We’ve had quite a few problems with that roof over there, so it will be nice to get it resolved,” Bortz said.
The commissioners declared October as Domestic Violence Month to recognize victims of domestic violence.
