School officials at Brocton were in lockdown until after 5 p.m. today. Pupils in elementary grades were all picked up by parents. The first group of students were dismissed before the school learned of the prisoner escape.

Scanner reports indicated this afternoon about 200 corrections officers were being called in to help in the search.
