Edward Francis Boorady, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away November 3, 2010 at age 87.
He was born in Dunkirk, NY, the son of Albert and Tamam Boorady.
Dr. Booraday, an optometrist, owned and operated Boorady Optical Company, serving the Dunkirk area for 40 years.

A World War II U.S. Army Sergeant, he served in the European Theater with the 5th Infantry Division, receiving many commendations.
He was an active member of many community organizations, including St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church, Boorady Reading Center, former Grand Knight of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus, past president of the Lions Club, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion Post #62, the Republican Committee and a Red Cross volunteer.
He is greatly missed by survivors: his wife, Ethel; daughters Catherine Boorady (Michael Dutcher), Carol Boorady (Jan Eddy), Elizabeth Cohen (Howard), Ruth Boorady Bloom (Andrew); grandchildren Jennifer, Matthew and Rachael Cohen, Ana Lucia Bloom, Luca Blackburn and brot-ers Richard (Nohade) and Robert.
He was predeceased by his parents; sisters Rebecca, Edna (Betty) and brothers Norman, Fred.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, Nov. 5, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. A Mass for Edward Boorady will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 6, at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Memorial contributions in Edward's name may be made to "CCH Activities Linda Chase" at the Chautauqua County Home, Dunkirk.
