Chautauqua County Office for the Aging announces the addition of a new restaurant participating in the Senior Dining Out Program. The Mariner's Pier Express is now ready to accept Dining Out Program tickets from seniors. Mariner's Pier is located on the corner of Third and Spring streets in downtown Jamestown. Please make note that they will only be accepting senior vouchers from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Senior Restaurant Dining Out Program is a collaboration between Chautauqua County Office for the Aging and local restaurants to provide subsidized meals to seniors.
Seniors age 60 and over who wish to participate must register for the program and get tickets, for a suggested donation of $3 per meal, directly from Office for the Aging by calling 753-4471, 661-7471 or 363-4471. They can then use these tickets at any participating restaurant. These tickets can only be used to obtain specified meal choices from the senior dining out menus and there are no substitutions.
Tickets cannot be transferred to others, turned in for cash or used at non-participating restaurants. Gratuity and additional purchases are the participants' responsibility.
This program provides opportunity for seniors to be active in their communities and socialize, along with receiving a full nutrient composed meal, seniors are able to go where they would like and the senior menus offer choices. Busy seniors of today can choose when to eat, where to eat, and what to eat in the Dining Out program. Restaurant lists and times of participation are sent out with all ticket orders.
