Bonnie (Gula) Kelly and husband James Kelly, along with Vincent Ricotta, announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachelle Ricotta, to Justin Abbott, son of Carol and the late William Abbott.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Dunkirk High School and graduated from the University of Buffalo with a BA in urban and public policy and a BA in sociology. Ricotta also graduated from the University of Toronto with honors with a master's of science in planning. She holds the position of community development/lead planner for the county of Lycoming in Pennsylvania.
The prospective groom is a graduate from Fredonia High School. Abbott also graduated from Alleghany College with a BA in environmental science. He works for the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and has the title of surface mine conservation inspector.

The couple resides in Trout Run, near Williamsport, Pa. They run a community garden in Williamsport.
A wedding is planned for Sept. 3, 2011.
