On Tuesday, March 29, from 5 to 9 p.m., Pizza Hut will donate 20 percent of their purchases to Dunkirk-Fredonia Meals on Wheels. Purchases made earlier in the day will also be honored. Friends of Meals on Wheels can eat in the restaurant or do take-outs; however, anyone participating in this event will need a special coupon which is found at the bottom of the flyer announcing this event. Flyers with coupons can be picked up at the Meals on Wheels office at 314 Central Ave., Room 201, Dunkirk, or can be downloaded by going to www.facebook.com. Search for Dunkirk-Fredonia Meals on Wheels or Pizza Hut fundraiser.
This fundraiser is held in conjunction with the national Mayors March for Meals which is intended to increase public awareness of senior hunger programs, to recruit new volunteers and to increase local funding to support the operation. Last year more than 1,000 elected officials across the U.S. and Canada participated in the Mayors March.
This year Mayors Sullivan, Brewster, Abram and Lindstrom will deliver meals along with Dunkirk Councilman Dolce and County Legislators DeJoe, Scudder, Park and Borrello.
Pizza Hut is located at 10370 Bennett Road, Fredonia.
