Meeting for Section 6 Football Coaches
There will be an important pre-season meeting for all Chautauqua County and Cattaraugus County football coaches. The meeting will be held on Thursday, Aug. 11, at 7 p.m., in the Olean Middle School library. It is highly recommended that each member school send all football coaches (varsity, jayvee, modified) to the meeting.

The XTreme 10U Alleca won their fourth tournament of the season as they won the organization’s Inaugural XTreme Summer Madness Tournament held at the Nike Base. Fifth Annual
Cameron Run
The Fifth Annual Cameron Run will be held Saturday, Aug. 13. The race/walk benefits the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
There will be a 5K run, as well as a 2-mile walk, which will begin at 9:30 a.m., at Point Gratiot, in Dunkirk.
Awards will be given at the completion of the race, along with a brunch for all participants.
The cost is $15 for adults ($20 after July 31) and $10 for children under 18.

DHS/Mindszenty/FHS 2nd Annual Golf Tournament
Shorewood Country Club will once again be the site for the Second Annual DHS/Mindszenty/FHS Golf Tournament, which will be held Friday, Aug. 12.
The tournament, which will be a best ball format, will begin at 9 a.m., with a shotgun start. Both men's, women's and mixed teams will be accepted.
The cost is $75 and includes golf, cart, lunch, beverages and a dinner buffet. For those wishing to attend just the dinner portion of the event, the cost is $22. A cash bar will be available at 2 p.m., with dinner set for 3. There will be a trophy and prize presentation following dinner.

Nathan George Softball Tournament
Squire Whites, the White Inn and the Nathan George Foundation announced The Third Annual Nathan George Memorial Co-ed Softball Classic will be held Saturday, Aug. 13 at Promenschenkel Stadium and the School No. 7 softball field, beginning at 8 a.m.
Teams will compete for the championship title with cash prizes awarded to the top two teams. All teams will be guaranteed a minimum of two games. All players must be over the age of 16 to participate.
New to the tournament this year will be a free baseball and softball clinic for children ages 9-12. Children are required to bring a glove, cleats and hat. The clinic will start at 10 a.m.
Also new this year is the Kids Korner sponsored by Pride & Joy Child Care. This service is being offered to the children of team members while playing their scheduled games. The Kids Korner is free of charge and will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will feature arts, crafts, games and activities supervised by adults. Children of non-players are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
Food and beverages will be available by Don Bennice, Franklin Honey and Apples, Boston Hotel Steak and Crabhouse, Willow Creek Winery, Coughlin's and 41 West. All events are family-friendly and will feature music by Dynamite Sound, bounce house by Pump It Up, face painting, 50/50 drawings and appearances by the Buffalo Jills. An awards celebration will take place at 41 West immediately following the tournament.
On Friday, Aug. 12, the Fredonia Beaver Club and Beaver Tail Catering will host a Chinese Auction/spaghetti dinner, beginning at 4 p.m. Take-out dinners will be available. Live music by "Last Call" will take place from 8 to 11 p.m.
All proceeds will benefit The Nathan George Foundation, Inc. which helps support sports programs within Northern Chautauqua County as well as awards annual scholarships to athletes at Fredonia, Dunkirk, Brocton and Silver Creek High Schools

Tour of Chautauqua Bike Ride
The 28th annual Tour of Chautauqua Bike Ride will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, originating and finishing in front of the Eason Hall, 23 Elm St. Westfield, N.Y. The mass start begins at 9 am. Water and refreshment stops and sag wagon services are provided. Helmets are required. Recreational tours of courses of 25, 40, 62, 75 and 100 miles are offered, with a meal at the finish.
