August 3, 2011
The OBSERVER

MAYVILLE - The jazz band Razz And Friends will be the featured performers for Thursday's Entertainment in the Park concert performance in the Village Green Park from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Razz And Friends is a quintet based group with Barbara Jean, an exceptionally fine vocalist; Razz (Ralph Rasmusson) playing alto and tenor saxophones, clarinet, flute and harmonica; and the rhythm section of Frank Farina on piano, Bill Winchester on drums, and Lloyd Howard on bass. The band originally formed in 1992, with Bill Winchester joining in 1996 and Barbara Jean joining in 2001 as an occasional vocalist and becoming their full time vocalist in 2002. Their repertoire consists mostly of songs from Duke Ellington, Cole Porter and other fine composers, as well as featuring original songs by Barbara Jean in the American standards tradition.

Rainbow the Clown (Jerry Stimson) of Randolph will also be on hand to entertain the children with face painting and balloon sculptures.
