BROCTON - Steve Tasker will be speaking at Harvest Chapel West (formerly the Brocton Free Methodist Church) at 9 Highland Ave. in Brocton at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25.
Tasker is often considered to be the National Football League's greatest all time special teams player. His name has been nominated for Pro Football's Hall of Fame numerous times. Tasker, along with others such as John Unitas, Dick Butkus and Jerry Rice, was selected by Pro Football Hall of Fame voters to be a member of the NFL's All-Time Team, joining only 26 others in the history of the NFL to receive that honor. He was also selected by his peers and coaches of the NFL to represent the American Football Conference as their special team's player in seven Pro Bowls. And he is the only special team's player ever, to be selected as the NFL Pro Bowl's MVP when it happened in the 1993 Pro Bowl Game. Currently he works for CBS as an NFL color analyst and sideline reporter; and for Westwood One Radio Network as a Monday Night Football sideline analyst. He is also on staff with the Buffalo Bills as a community liaison.
Tasker is most well-known for his role as the Special Teams' Captain of the Buffalo Bills during the team's four consecutive trips to the Super Bowl. What is not widely known is that he is also a gifted and active public speaker, making inspirational and motivational speeches in Western New York and around the country.
