Encore Chorale, Theatre and Dance Institute announces free recitals at Chautauqua Institution

CHAUTAUQUA - Encore Creativity for Older Adults partners with the Athenaeum Hotel, the Liz Lerman Dance Company and the Stagebridge Theatre to bring four free concerts to Elizabeth S. Lenna Hall at Chautauqua Institution.

Just one day after the conclusion of the Institution's 2011 season, Encore brings pianist Hyeweon Lee to Lenna Hall for a 7:30 p.m. recital on Aug. 29. Lee performs works by Bolcom, Chopin, Couperin, Gershwin and Ravel.

Soprano Brooke Evers and pianist Susan Ricci perform an evening of art song, opera and Broadway on Aug. 31 at 7:30 p.m.

The Young People's Chorus of Erie comes to Lenna Hall on Sept. 1 for a 7:30 p.m. performance.

The final free recital begins at 2 p.m. on Sept. 2 when the Encore Choral, Theatre and Dance Institute participants present a "Grand Finale Concert."

Encore Creativity, Inc. is a non-profit corporation dedicated to providing an accessible artistic environment for adults ages 55 and up who seek educational and performance opportunities under the direction of professional artists.

At Chautauqua Instit-ution, singers, actors and dancers from around the country will rehearse daily with conductors Jeanne Kelly, Encore's founder, and Dr. Barry Talley, the retired Director of Musical Activities at the U.S. Naval Academy.
