The children of Joe and Ethel Hornberger of Forestville surprised their parents with a 60th anniversary picnic at Chestnut Ridge Park in Orchard Park on Saturday, Aug. 27.
The couple was married on Aug.16, 1951 in Blasdell. Joe is retired from the Ford Stamping Plant in Woodlawn. Ethel retired from Delevan Electronics in East Aurora.
They have six children: Sue Wiencek of Blasdell, Sandy Schreiner of Blasdell, Kathy Hornberger of Silver Creek, Janet Buck of Niagara Falls, Joe Hornberger of Forestville and Karen Wiltsie of Blasdell. There are also nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Frank and Donna Wilkins of Gowanda, brother and sister-in-law, were also in attendance at the anniversary picnic.
