The OBSERVER

MARIETTA, Ga. - Fans of Jim Brickman, David Lanz and Yanni have another great new option when it comes to beautiful, soulful, mesmerizing piano music. After hundreds of shows playing for Moby Dick, new age pianist Ron (Rahn) released his first solo album, If Only, Sept. 1.

"These songs are the most personal expressions of the various highs and lows in my life," Ron said. "If Only represents relationships, experiences and the journeys I've taken over the past five years, so I'm thrilled to debut this new CD this fall."

The new album was inspired by relationships, successes and challenges and speaks to listeners who have ever wondered "if only" in their lives. Early reviews have called the music "amazing," "beautiful," "peaceful" and "wonderful." The CD can be purchased at www.rahnmusic.com and ordered through iTunes, Amazon and cdbaby.com.

Ron began performing and playing music with his family in upstate New York when he was just five years old. He started playing classical piano at age nine, and is grateful to his parents for their encouragement of something that was challenging at first but turned into both a career and a passion.

After hearing his first live concert Ron made a decision, "I decided I was going to be a rock star. I took advantage of every musical opportunity I could, starting my own band when I was 17, playing the organ at church, enjoying as many concerts as possible and creating a life of playing and teaching."

Ron studied Music Education and Piano Performance at SUNY Fredonia. In addition to his solo career, he continues to play with Moby Dick, one of Atlanta's best-known '80s cover bands, which has opened for groups including Great White, Warrant, LA. Guns, The Bullet Boys and Tito Jackson, and he also plays keyboards for Swedish sensation Ulrika produced by Tricky Stewart. Further, Ron does sound design for commercials, websites and more.

If Only is the solo CD debut by new age pianist Rahn, and it retails for $12.97. For more information on the CD or booking arrangements, please visit www.rahnmusic.com.
