Fred and Wendy Barone of Fredonia will be celebrating their 40th anniversary on Sept. 11. Fred L. Barone and Wendy L. Wasmund were united in marriage on Sept. 11, 1971, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Silver Creek.
Mrs. Barone is the daughter of Lucille Peterson and the late Richard Wasmund, and is the stepdaughter of the late Robert Peterson. Mr. Barone is the son of Florine Barone and the late Fred Barone.
Wedding attendants were maid of honor Debbie Wasmund, Susan Graves Laurito, Mary Szablewski Gloss and Judi Chiavetta Garlapow; best man Richard Barone, Michael Laurito Jr., Charles Siragusa and Al Santorelli.

The couple has one son, Craig (Jacqueline) Barone of Charlotte, N.C., and two grandchildren, Jackson, age 5, and Reese, age 2.
Mr. Barone retired in April 2011 from NRG after 25 years of service.
