JAMESTOWN - Movies will return to the Winter Garden this fall.
The Jamestown Renaissance Corporation will screen a classic 1960s film in the Winter Garden Plaza at 8 p.m. on Saturday. The movie is part of an evening event that will also feature a brief presentation highlighting the JRC's recent projects.
"The Winter Garden Plaza was created as a space for our community to congregate like it did while the theatre stood," said Jason Stronz, the JRC's Executive Director, noting showing movies in the space was a natural choice. "It will be an active space in our downtown for the foreseeable future."
Stronz said he anticipates movie screenings to become a regular feature in the Winter Garden Plaza next summer.
"We were fortunate to partner with the Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz Center to show movies during Lucy's 100th Birthday Celebration," he said. "We are happy to have the opportunity to show another film this fall and look forward to making it a regular activity in 2012."
Admission to the movie screening is free. Jones 212 Bakery and Labyrinth will be providing food for patrons, who are also invited to bring their own snacks. Alcohol is prohibited.
