CCA celebrates 30 years

September 24, 2011
The OBSERVER

The Dunkirk/Fredonia area has been home to, and supported, many different types of long-running institutions and businesses over its history. Central Christian Academy can now add its name to the list of great places that call this area their long term home.

Central Christian Academy celebrates its 30th anniversary this Saturday with a party for the whole family. The event will be headlined by comedian and entertainer Nels Ross, live music, food, pony rides and a Chinese Auction. A love offering will also be taken to help support the school and its students.

Central Christian Academy was started in 1981 by the members of First Baptist Church on Central Avenue in Dunkirk. It was created, primarily, as a ministry to provide a Biblically-based education to the children at First Baptist. Soon, however, the student body began to be made up of more and more children and families from within the community. The high quality of education in addition to the Biblical world view was, and continues to be, an attractive option to many families in the local area. The students at CCA continually score very high in mandatory standardized testing which are administered every year.

The demand for education beyond the elementary grades led Central Christian Academy to expand its roster this current school year by adding middle and high school grades. Students in our all new Learning Center will now be able to attend all the way through high school graduation and even earn college credits.

The entire Dunkirk/Fredonia community is invited to the school, located at 876 Central Ave. in Dunkirk, to celebrate this momentous year in the life of Central Christian Academy and to help support the school in continuing to make an impact in the lives of families in the community.
