On Sunday at the 11 a.m. service, the Fellowship Church family will be celebrating the first anniversary of the founding of their church. On Oct. 17, 2010, 23 people met for the first time in Pastor Sandi Ball's dining room.
During this first year, members have increased their number to 46, have purchased, updated and furnished the church building and landscaped the property.
In-depth studies on baptism, membership, prayer, marriage and the fourth commandment were undertaken. Bible studies are on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m.
Many social activities including Lenten supper, picnics, weekly breakfasts, work days, tureens, after-service coffee and Christmas Eve around the pastor's tree were shared.
A highlight of the year was the dedication service for the building with Pastor Ben and Ruth Perkins attending and signing of the church charter.
Following the Sunday service, a ham dinner will be served at the church at noon with those attending bringing a dish to pass. All are welcome to attend and stay as long as they wish to fellowship. Bring a lawn chair and weather permitting, members can visit outside in the afternoon.
