Kinney Family Reunion
Descendants of Andrew and Anna Forkin Kinney held their annual family reunion at Russell Joy Park in Fredonia. Andrew and Anna emigrated from Ireland in 1882 and settled at 142 Newton St., Fredonia, where their seven children were born and raised.
At 1 p.m., a picnic lunch was served with a variety of delicious homemade dishes. Samantha and Kyle Weintraub recited grace. Dinner was held at 6 p.m. followed by a corn roast and a marshmallow roast.
The Kinney family recently reunited at Russell Joy Park for a picnic and activities.
Stephen B. Ubaney organized the event. Kathie Kinney Tooley was in charge of the games that were played through out the day which included a shamrock game. The children also enjoyed a pinata and a water balloon toss. An auction was held with Betty McCraith Bradnick serving as auctioneer.
The oldest person present was 97-year-old Catherine McCraith Wuerstle, a direct line descendant, and 2-year-old Colton Wuerstle was the youngest person present.
Family members attended from Long Island, Pennsylvania and the local area.
Plans are being made for the next reunion to be held July 22, 2012.
