Peter and Shirley Szymanowicz of Fredonia announce the engagement of their daughter, Christie, to Karl Newell. Newell is the son of Roger and Sally Newell of Fredonia.
The bride-to-be is a 2003 graduate of Fredonia High School and a 2007 graduate of St. Bonaventure University. She is an accountant and resides in Amherst.
The prospective groom is a 2002 graduate of Fredonia High School and a 2006 graduate of the University of Buffalo. He is a software engineer and resides in Amherst.
